Barry's matt black 29er single speed is just a straight up tough bike. It’s got Paragon "slider" rear dropouts, mechanical disc brakes, double chain stays, S & S couplers for easy travel, and has clearance for the biggest tires available. It’s built up with Phil Wood hubs and bottom bracket, White Industries cranks and freewheel, Avid mechanical disc brakes with an oversized front rotor, a Pace carbon fork, and in the pictures here has a custom bar, which is a steel adaptation of the On One "Mary" bar. Notice the close-up detail pictures of the joints. With the matt black finish, every little blemish in the fillet of the joint would show up glaringly. I paid special attention to the joints to get them just right and I’m really please with how well the finished product appears. The fillets came out very uniform and smooth. This is a very cool mountain bike, solid and really tough.
